Qualifications

ISA Board Certified Master Arborist — This is a step up from the standard certified arborist. This comprehensive exam requires many years as a certified arborist to sit for. Unlike the certified arborist text, you can’t just study a book and be ready to pass the test. This is an objective text that requires years of field experience to be prepared for. Only 10 BCMA’s in the state of Texas.

Texas Oak Wilt Certified — Educational program developed as a joint effort between the Texas Forest Service and the Texas Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture.

American Society of Consulting Arborists — This is the most prestigious organization for arborists. Being a member of this organization is much like obtaining a certification, as you must qualify to be a member. Unlike the ISA which only requires you pay dues.
